The Grand Norwich Duck Race is back, and it’s set to be a quacktastic day of family fun! Come and join in with a tradition that’s been part of Norwich life for over a decade.
Expect live music, tasty food, face painting, and plenty of games as we gather to watch the amazingly decorated ducks race to victory on the River Wensum.

River Wensum – Fye Bridge to St George’s Street Bridge
We’re excited to announce that our duck raffle is now open!
Get your raffle tickets to be in with a chance of winning one of our fantastic prizes, including a Banham Zoo Annual Family Pass (worth £380!). Winners will be announced via our website and social channels by Tuesday 19 May. By taking part, you’re walking alongside local young people in and leaving care, so they can achieve the potential we know they have.
The Duck-tinerary
12pm: The Duck Parade! Come along and see the fantastic duckorated ducks before they hit the water, all on display on St George’s Bridge. Alongside the river, enjoy live music by Cheryl Davis, a BBQ, games and face-painting.
1pm: The corporate paddleboard race begins! Seasoned experts and paddleboard newbies take to the river in the race to win a headstart in the Duck Derby.
2pm: Time for the main event – the Duckorated Duck Derby! A huge flock of large rubber ducks, each uniquely decorated by local businesses and schools, will race down the River Wensum near Fye Bridge, Norwich. Who will take home the coveted Crystal Duck Trophy?
2:40pm: Last but not least, the Duckling Race begins. Thousands of numbered baby rubber ducks will race in the duck raffle! If your ticket number matches one of the first six ducklings to cross the finish line, you’ll win one of our fantastic prizes – which include a Banham Zoo Annual Family Pass, a food and drink hamper, a Harry’s Soul Station voucher, plus passes for other Norfolk attractions. There's still time to enter your school or business in the Duckorated Duck Derby. Packages start at £150 (or £100 for schools and community groups) and include your large duck, acrylic paints and creative advice.
