At the weekend, more than 40 incredible Break supporters took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge – a 25‑mile trek across Pen‑y‑ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – all within 12 hours and in very challenging weather conditions.
Despite relentless rain, cold winds and tough terrain, every single walker crossed the finish line. Together, the determined group raised £22,000, helping ensure young people leaving care can access the safety, support and opportunities they deserve.
The team showed huge resilience throughout the day, encouraging one another across all three peaks. A special shout‑out goes to Break young person Aidan, who bravely took on the challenge to raise vital funds for his peers, alongside Joe, manager of Break’s Lifelong Opportunities team, who both know first‑hand the impact this support can make.
Corporate supporters also rose to the challenge, with Alan Boswell Group exceeding their fundraising target – raising £8,030 against a £7,500 goal.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, donated, and cheered us on. Your determination and generosity will help Break continue to support young people in and around care and build brighter futures.
Could you take on an adventure that could change a young person’s life – and yours?
