Break Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge


Join us and conquer the highest three peaks of the Yorkshire Dales!
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge is a circular walk which encompasses three major peaks in the Yorkshire Dales Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
This demanding yet rewarding one-day trekking challenge takes us to the summits of Pen-y-Ghent (694m/2,276 ft), Whernside (736m/2,415 ft) and Ingleborough (723m/2,372 ft), all in one circular route starting and ending in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. We’ll be supporting each other every step of the way on this demanding yet rewarding challenge.

Set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, this challenge offers some of the best scenery in the country. The peaks lie at the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and scientific interest, giving the Yorkshire 3 Peaks a spectacular and memorable challenge to take part in.
Make no mistake a tough challenge with up to 1700m of ascent, 39.2km in distance, all to be accomplished within 12hrs. So, requiring an average walking speed of 3.5km/hr considering short breaks and a lunch stop. This is not a challenge for a novice walker and for most, will require a level of training and support.

Accommodation option
£80 per person
To include:
- Two nights stay at Bunkhouse located at the start/finish line of the challenge
- Friday 9th May (arrival from 2.30pm)
- Saturday 10th May
- Dinner Friday and Saturday evening
- Breakfast Saturday morning
- Ladies and Gents room allocation
You will need your own pillow/sleeping bag.
Travel is not included.

FAQs
Minimum age for participants is 14 years. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
There are a range of places to stay in the area from camping to hotels. We recommend that you stay overnight the Friday night as a minimum to be rested and ready for your challenge.

We will start and finish at the Break Bunkhouse at the bottom of Ingleborough. We aim to meet at 6am with breakfast and depart by 6.30am for the start of the challenge.
This means we will be able to return to here for a hot meal together at the end and a little celebration to reflect on the amazing challenge that we have just completed toegther!
There is plenty of parking locally and we will advise when you book with more information.
There are toilets at each hill start in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, then Ribblehead and at Chapel le Dale.
Equipment is not included in your package. There is a recommended kit list provided for you once you have registered.
This challenge is not recommended for novice walkers but is a touch endurance challenge. We expect you to have to train and will provide examples of training schedules. If we do not feel you are capable of the challenge and may be of harm to your safety or that of the group, we reserve the right to remove you from the challenge.
We recommend you fill your water carriers/bottles to start. The support vehicle will provide water top ups and refreshments at each rest stop between hills.
