Learning & Development
Break has a long history of delivering and commissioning high-quality training for a range of care services and holds the child, young person or family at its heart. Our programme is designed to meet the training and development needs of all those working in the care sector, from staff starting out in their careers to those with a wealth of experience and skills.
The Workforce Development team is based at Diamond House in Norwich and delivers training across the eastern region. Our training has been commissioned by local authorities, city councils, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and private companies. Rachel Cowdry (MA/DipSW, EDSM), a qualified social worker with 20 years' experience in the care sector, leads the team of specialists.
We are able to offer places on our Learning and Development Programme to external organisations or take commissions for bespoke training to whole teams or organisations. Break, in partnership with Norfolk County Council, has developed the Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma (CYPWD) and delivers it from a Social Pedagogical approach. The course builds on the competency base of the CYPWD and delivers a challenging, creative, participative approach to the care task.
