Pathways Day Services

Pathways provides a safe and supportive environment where women with significant mental health needs are helped towards recovery and independence.

The programme is based on positive relationships, confidence building and the development of skills. Each woman is helped to achieve personal goals and to make links with mainstream resources that she can use when she no longer needs day service support.

A range of activities is offered to those who use the service, including stained glass work, pottery, swimming, keep fit, cookery, music, aromatherapy, relaxation, photography, computer and IT skills, as well as certificated courses.

Informal group sessions allow women to build confidence and gain support from others with similar experiences, while community based activities are a regular part of the programme.

Service users have a strong influence on the way that the day service operates, including producing a newsletter. Every six months there is a Service User Forum where service users and staff review the service in a systematic way, set objectives and make recommendations for the future.
