La Riviere, French Self Catering Property
La Riviere is a traditional stone-built cottage situated in quiet seclusion about a mile from the village of Reffuveille in the Manche region of Normandy. It is set amongst gentle rolling countryside with woods and fields. It has a specially equipped downstairs bedroom with full disabled access.
The property has a very attractive style that retains a French feel, including wooden beams, comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove; creating very homely and comfortable surroundings.
On the ground floor there is a kitchen/diner with a breakfast bar, gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge, coffee machine and toaster. There is a washing machine and freezer in the utility room and a seperate w/c. The spacious lounge has comfortable seating with satellite TV, video and Hi-Fi. Down a couple of steps is a further small seating area with table and chairs.
Downstairs there is a single bedroom specially designed for wheelchair access with a hospital bed which lifts and tilts, a wheel-in shower with shower chair and high w/c.
The access around the property is for a standard wheelchair, please ask for further information upon contact with the Guest Bookings Administrator.
Upstairs there are two double rooms and one triple room with an additional single bed on the landing. There is a large bathroom with w/c, bidet and washbasins (also a shower in the bath).
Bed linen is available at an extra cost, payable locally. We can arrange the hire of moving and handling equipment - details on request.
Outside there is large private garden containing fruit trees and a rope swing. There is a patio area with a barbecue and badminton equipment available for use. Off road parking and garage also.
The Area
Reffuveille itself is a small village with a few houses clustered around a church. There is a baker and a general store. The town of Brecey is 10km from the property. It has a supermarket, petrol station, small shops, bars, newsagents and cafes. The bank has an ATM for your convenience and there is a local swimming pool. There is also a doctor and chemist operating.
There are a number of local attractions for you to visit.. The Mont Saint Michel Abbey is approximately forty five minutes drive from the property as are the beaches of Cotentin coast.
Travel Information
You can drive from Calais Port, this takes on average, five hours and is 280 miles away. The ferry port of St. Malo is approximately 52 miles away from the property and the port of Caen is 65 miles away. Alternatively, Ryanair fly to Dinard from all London airports, and is approximately 53 miles from the property.
