Broads Paddle 2008 and 2009
In July this year 12 paddlers took to the Norfolk broads to paddle 40k in aid of Break. Starting from Wayford Bridge they paddled down the River Ant, crossing Barton Broad in a minor rainstorm to join the River Bure with an overnight camping stop near Thurne Mouth.
After a suitably refreshing evening in a local hostelry, the next morning they carried on paddling up the River Thurne, through Potter Heigham to their final destination on Hickling Broad.
The weather over the weekend proved to be mostly good, resulting in one or two burned knees that took minds off the aching arms and shoulders brought on by some 11 hours of paddling.
