Michael Rooney has joined Break as the new Fundraising Manager
Break, the Sheringham based charity providing care and support for vulnerable people in East Anglia, is pleased to welcome Michael Rooney as the new Fundraising Manager. Michael comes to us from the Hamlet Centre Trust, where for the past three years he has worked as CEO and overseen the setting up and opening of a new Children’s Service in Norwich in September 2011.

Michael is a qualified Social Worker who has worked in social care for the past 30 years. He started as a care assistant in a home for older people moving on to manage residential and day service units for Norfolk County Council Social Services Department, most significantly the Vauxhall Centre which latterly housed the City and Eaton Children’s Centre.
Married for over 30 years to Liz, they have three children Tom, Hannah and Joe.
Michael is a sports fanatic who supports NCFC and the England Cricket team. He is a very keen cyclist and confesses to being renowned for having a head full of trivia nonsense! He also sings in a Swing/Jive band.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Chris Hoddy said, “We are delighted to welcome Michael to Break at a time when our services are developing and growing. We hope his expertise will give a much needed boost to our fundraising to enable us to continue to provide much needed help and support to vulnerable children and families in East Anglia”.
