Key Facts 2010/11
This year Break supported over 2000 individuals, families and carers including:-
21 vulnerable young people were cared for within our five high quality children's homes. All of these attended either full time or part-time education or employment
26 young people were supported through our Transition Project
23 young people received mentoring services
12 children received short breaks at Morley House and 6 children weekly boarded whilst attending a nearby school
35 school age children with autistic spectrum disorders and other learning disabilities received regular short breaks at Nelson Lodge in South Norfolk
48 families were provided with residential support and assessments to ensure the best possible outcomes for both parents and their vulnerable children. 24 children returned home with their parents, while the remaining children were placed permanently with alternative carers who could meet their needs
116 teenage parents received support from our Embrace Project
78 women diagnosed with a mental health difficulty were supported in a safe, healthy and positive environment on their road to recovery at our residential unit in South Norfolk
10 women with enduring mental health problems were helped to re-establish their own lives in the community through supported housing. 1 woman moved on to full independence in the community
426 children and adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour enjoyed holidays at our holiday centre in Sheringham
221 enjoyed affordable holidays for disadvantaged families at our two holiday chalets in Devon
All our work would not be possible without our 457 dedicated staff and 705 invaluable volunteers
